Adventurous Couples Session in Northern Ireland – Featuring My Parents!
From the age of twelve, I grew up in Northern Ireland, where my parents and siblings still reside. I went back to Ireland for Christmas this year and a blissful lazy week of spending time with my family (and their litter of French Bulldog puppies!!) and eating my mum’s delicious food. I asked if my parents wanted to have a photoshoot as one of my Christmas gifts to them and to my delight they said yes!
I have three younger siblings so my parents really don’t get much time alone. It was awesome to be able to give them a little time out for them to just be with each other and have fun. My sessions are usually a mix of some guided prompts and candid shots but since my mum and dad were completely comfortable in front of the camera ( the perk of having your daughter as the photographer!) I barely used any prompts at all.
After 27 years of marriage and five children (yep, I’m one of five!) they are still each others favorite person. My dad calls my mum on his lunch break at work every day just because he wants to talk to her and they still make each other laugh until their sides hurt.
I once asked my dad who his best friend was and he told me that my mum is the best friend he has ever had. Isn’t that lovely?! I feel so privileged to call these wonderful humans my parents. It turns out they are very photogenic too!
If you’re planning a destination wedding or an elopement in Ireland I’d love to talk to you! I offer discounted travel rates for Ireland (both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland).
